We bid a fond farewell to Michael (our travel navigator, drink delivery guy, planner extraordinaire) as we hopped on a train to Edinburgh (pronounced Eh*duhn*bruh—sorry, John keeps saying I need to practice) bright and early this morning.
We waited at the train station,
while Michael texted that he was on another train heading to Emirates Stadium (where the Arsenal play).
We sat on the train for four full hours. It was WONDERFUL! Where it would definitely not be another 16,000+ step day, we enjoyed every second of the down time!
We opted to skip having lunch on the train and decided to wait until we reached our destination to find a proper Scottish restaurant. Patte and Mike shared the last of their British waffles to hold them over until we reached that proper Scottish restaurant!
And just like that, we arrived in SUNNY Edinburgh! We noticed some of the gorgeous OLD buildings near the station,
as well as this restaurant, Social Bar & Kitchen.
We went in, got a table, and were reminded that “Scotland is Always a Good Idea!” Of course, we couldn’t have agreed more!
We all had breakfast for lunch and enjoyed every single bite! If that was what Scottish food was all about, we were certainly going to eat well this week!
We Ubered to our Airbnb, which we all found to be PERFECT! And guess what? It did not have one single step in it! Hurray! (We got it right this time!)
We all decided a low key evening in sounded good! John and Mike walked down to pick up a couple of pizzas and some groceries while Patte and I queued up the movie we decided to watch! When the boys returned, we sat back, ate pizza and watched none other than NOTTING HILL! (IYKYK!)
It was the PERFECT evening after a week FULL of running from one end of London to the other! The only thing missing was Michael! (😢😢😢)
We decided that in the morning, after a good night’s sleep, we would figure out what to go see in Edinburgh, er, I mean Eh*duhn*bru! Any suggestions?
Good Night, Edinburgh!
Just so much FUN!
