UNIVERSITY OF GALWAY, GALWAY CATHEDRAL, QUAY STREET AND PATTE & MIKE’S 48TH!

Today was Patte and Mike’s 48th anniversary!  On our way down to breakfast, Mike commented to the young girl who checked us in yesterday, “Can you even imagine being married for 48 years?”  Her response (I kid you not) was none other than “No!  I can’t even imagine being alive for 48 years!”  We about died laughing! 🤣🤣🤣 John went down before us to have coffee with an old business associate, Rainer.  (He forgot to take a photo!)  After his coffee and our breakfast (which was AMAZING for a B & B) we set out walking to the University of Galway.  The campus was quiet, since it was summer break, but it was neat to roam around and look at the beautiful ivy-covered buildings. And we sat back and relaxed the rest of the journey!  Once in Galway, we checked into our “quaint” BandB!  There was a pub and a dining room in it, where we can all enjoy complimentary breakfast each morning.  (In the dining room, NOT the pub, of course!)  After unpacking and getting settled in our “tiny” room, we joined Patte and Mike to head downtown for a food tour!  Have I mentioned that it was an absolutely gorgeous day in Galway? Our tour guide, Sean, was a proud Irishman, gave us lots of information on Irish history and on Galway itself!  His first lesson of the evening was the meaning of CRAIC AGUS CEOL, the Gaelic words for FUN AND DRINK. ...
